राष्ट्रीय कैडेट कॉर्प
The school NCC Troop- Air wing enrolls 100 cadets every year. They are trained by the personnel from AFS Tambaram. With a NCC officer the children are getting enough exposure to our armed forces. 10 cadets attended the flying training at NCC hanger in AFS and 40 students have completed A-Certificate Exam – 2010-2011. From our Vidyalaya Troop, 31 cadets have attended the Combined Annual Training Camp at Satya Bhama University, Chennai. They have conducted many competition viz., Drill Competition, Vally Ball Competition, Quiz Competition, Line Area Competition, Cross Country Race and Cultural Programme. There was a heavy competition between Our Vidyalaya Cadets, DAV Ranipet Cadets, Asan Memorial Chennai Cadets, Monfort Dindivanam Cadets, Lady Andal Chennai Cadets, Saidapet Chennai Government School Cadets, Raja Muthaiya Hr. Sec. School Cadets etc., Our Vidyalaya cadets have won 3 prizes – I position in Quiz Competition, II position in Line Area Competition and II position in Cultural Programme
SCOUT & GUIDE
National Head Quarter of Bharat Scout & Guide is organizing National Level Essay/Painting Competition 2009 for Cubs/Bulbuls/Scouts/Guides in the ocassion od Swami Vivekanand's Birthday falling in 12th June to recognize the services of Swami Vivekanand. In this regard Essay/Painting competition were held at Vuidyalaya level for Cubs/Bulbuls/Scouts/Guides on 13/11/2009, 100 participants for essay and 300 participants participated for Painting competition.

TST CAMP 2012
BS&G, KVS State, Chennai Division, District I conducted TST Camp 2012 from 25 Aug 2012 to 28 Aug 2012. 10 schools with 155 scouts and 108 guides participated. Inauguration was done by Mr R Mohan, Principal, DGQA.
Later grand campfire was organised in enteemed presence of Shri R V S S Subrahmaniyam, Dep Div Commissioner, Asst. Comm, KVS.
Princpal KV No.2 Tambaram, Dist Coomissioner (G) Dt I was camp director. Mrs. R Rajammal, ALT(G), KV No.2 Tambaram was Co-ordinator cum observer. Mr M Chandrasekaran Pre ALT(S), KV Island Grounds and Mrs V Kamala, HWB(G), KV CLRI were LOC for scouts and guides respectively.
BICYCLE RALLY – NOVEMBER 7
The Scouts and Guides of our school , took part in the bicycle rally on November 7th to create an awareness among the residents to celebrate a green and clean diwali and measures to prevent the outbreak of dengue fever . As many as 80 scouts and guides took part in the rally that covered a distance of 5 kilometres .The rally was flagged by the principal, Mrs.N.Prasanna kumari . The scouts and guides went around the residential areas of the Air force Campus and Gandhi Nagar in Rajakilpakkam . Mr. E.Ananthan, Principal of KV 1 Air force station tambaram addressed and scouts and guides .The scouts and guides carried pluck cards and interacted with the residents . The event was organised by R.Rajamal , Assistance learners trainer ( Guides ) ; Padma Balakumar and Mrs G Savithri , Guide captains ; Raghubhar Ram ; Scout master of the school .
World Aids Day Awareness
December 1st 2012 , The World AIDS Day
The Scouts and Guides of Kv2 Tambaram spread awareness about AIDS! It took place at the Chennai Central station. It was organised by Higginbotham’s – a well known book store. The awareness campaign was flagged by the station master and number of passengers were given pamphlets which conveyed a useful message about AIDS . Eight Scouts & Guides took part in the campaign ,R.Rajammal the Guide Captain who took part and guided the Scouts and Guides along with the students
